A few bakeries sell the cache museau, particularly the Lauglé à Grignols (33) cake shop and the Au Bon Pain à Marmande (47) cake shop.
A type of large cream-filled choux pastry which is traditionally eaten by people from Paloumeyre when waiting for the famous blue birds (the wood pigeon), this speciality is made from crepe pastry and is in the shape of a large choux bun, filled with whipped vanilla cream. The cache museau (‘hidden nose’ in English) owes its name to its large size as it literally hides the nose of the person eating it.
