Available directly from producers, in cellars and supermarkets throughout the Charente region
Thanks to the support of professional organisations and oenologists, in the early 80s, a group of winegrowers, traders and industry unions created an initiative to promote the region’s ‘Vin de Pays Charentais’.
White, rosé and red wines then started to be served in local restaurants which began to build their notoriety.
In 2011, the Vins de Pays Charentais industry was awarded for its hard work and savoir-faire, earning a Charente Protective Geographical Indication.
These established vineyards are in this special area over the 2 Charentes and cover a selection of plots. They undergo regular wine quality controls, bringing consumers a range of fresh wines to enjoy with traditional Charente cuisine.
