Fine Bordeaux is the brandy made in the Bordeaux wine region. We can trace distillation in the Bordeaux region back to the end of the 19th century.
Fine is made from a distillation of white Bordeaux wines, mainly with sémillon, white ugni, white colombard and, to a lesser extent, white merlot grape varieties. Distillation is carried out during the winter until 31st March. It is then aged for several years in oak barrels and reaches a minimum of 40%.
Fine Bordeaux is amber in colour. It is characterised by an intense yet subtle aroma and fruity and floral flavours which contain notes of citrus fruits, fresh butter and vanilla, as well as a discrete touch of wood. When drunk, the taste is sweet and smooth, with an ample, powerful and generous mid-palate, marked by fruity flavours. Its finish is persistent, supple and fruity.
Fine Bordeaux was awarded P.G.I., Protected Geographical Indication, in 2013.
