Available from butchers, and supermarkets in the south-west of France
The first Label awarded to a breed was for the Blonde d’Aquitaine. The ‘Boeuf Blond d’Aquitaine’ brand was created in 1987 by breeders from the Aquitaine to promote the meat obtained from Blonde d’Aquitaine cattle. The quality of this meat was authenticated in 1991 with the Label Rouge for ‘Meat and offal, fresh and frozen, adult Blonde d’Aquitaine steer’ awarded to it. This breed is now reared nationally under the Label Rouge quality mark.
The Label Rouge meat is promoted in traditional butchers by the brand ‘Boeuf Blond d’Aquitaine’ and in supermarkets by the brand ‘Bœuf de Paysans’. With its signature ‘taste of lightness’, the Blonde d’Aquitaine beef is of excellent nutritional value, particularly as it is low in fat.
The star of the fields in our regions, the Blonde d’Aquitaine cow perfects its generous curves with a specially selected, balanced diet. The quality of this product and its traceability are guaranteed by a Label Rouge certificate. With its handsome meat yield, a higher proportion of noble cuts compared to other breeds, and a low fat content, there are now more than 50 butchers who prize the qualities of this exceptional Blonde d’Aquitaine beef. Thanks to its tender taste, whether grilled or braised, you’ll always be sure to enjoy it.
