Burgou

Burgou is a traditional cake from Haute-Vienne which combines chestnuts, honey and almonds. It has a spongy texture similar to gingerbread. Its name originates from that of a 19th century bandit who, according to legend, stole from the rich to give to the poor; like the ‘Robin Hood’ of Limousin.
