Grouped under the association APROVAL, celeriac producers have signed up to the ’signé Poitou-Charentes’ quality mark.
These celery roots are produced specifically in the Arnoult valley, a former ocean inlet in which sediments and organic matter accumulated. This land, particularly suited to vegetable crops, gives the celery roots their typically sweet taste.
The ’signé Poitou-Charentes’ quality mark guarantees the following in particular: the location of the land in the Arnoult valleys of the Charente-Maritime, celeriac vegetables that are selected and sorted by hand, and compliance with good cultivation practices.
These production characteristics guarantee that the celeriac roots do not oxidise once cut open.
