In 1965, Landes chicken was awarded the 1st Label Rouge in France and Protected Geographical Indication (P.G.I.) in 1998, both symbols of quality and origin. The department of Landes is now the 2nd Label Rouge production basin, with 14.5 million fowl to 600 farmers. Chickens, capons, turkeys, guinea fowl, fatted chickens and quail, there is something for every taste!
