Mainly in Correze
It has a coffee orange colour and a syrupy texture.
The flavour of the green walnut is tasted first, followed by more complex flavours: spices, vanilla and wood. The liqueur is made from whole green walnuts, brandy, neutral alcohol, water, sugar and its alcohol volume is around 30%.
This liqueur can be drunk cold (around 5°C), on its own as a digestif or in a cocktail (with champagne or orange juice). It is also used to flavour ice-cream, creams, cakes and sauces. Walnut liqueur is produced year-round in Corrèze.
